RootsMove is doing something different, and we need your help to do it.
Far too many people seeking sanctuary in the UK are trapped in a cruel catch-22 situation: no deposit, no home. No home, no address. No address, no job. No job, no deposit. And so it continues.
When refugees are granted their Leave to Remain in the UK, they are given just 7 days to leave Home Office accommodation.
Without a job or benefits (which takes weeks to secure), many refugees are left homeless within a month of receiving their refugee status.
RootsMove is working to break this vicious cycle of homelessness and ensure refugees have access to quality housing.
Our systematic approach includes working with a network of specialist partners to support our clients to settle into new homes.
RootsMove provides dedicated 1:1 support to clients, working together with our community to ensure they find the right home.

And we need your support.
We are fundraising to launch a new programme to cover housing costs for refugees in the UK. We will support with deposit, rent, furniture, flooring and other household essentials.
Alongside this, we will work with our expert partners to offer holistic wraparound support.
Donation Categories
£500 will pay for a deposit for a room in a shared property.
£1000 is enough for an individual or couple to move into a new home
£2500 will cover a family’s deposit on a 3-bedroom home.
£5000 covers a family’s deposit and first month’s rent on a home.
£10,000 to support two families to pay for deposit and first month’s rent for a home.
*These amounts are based on average rental prices across England and Wales, taking into account the higher cost of renting in London and other large cities.
